Mona Sharma is a writer, actress and a Comedy-Actress-Coach.

Born in New Delhi in 1973 Sharma, who is half-Indian and half-German, was raised in Germany. After a few years studying literature and media science, her career in television began in 1994 when she was discovered by acclaimed stand-up comedienne Anka Zink.
She did her first work as a youth reporter for the television channel WDR. She spent several years there writing and acting as well as developing her first comedy series. Then in 1996, she helped launch the pilot for “Switch”, an adaptation of the Australian hit ensemble comedy “Fast Forward” for TV channel Pro 7. As a writer and regular cast member, she soon garnered cult status in Germany, particularly for her portrayal of a Polish television host in the recurring segment “Deutsche Welle Polen”.
Since 2006 she has again been a writer and original cast member on “Switch Reloaded”, reuniting her with many of her former “Switch” colleagues. The program has enabled Mona Sharma to showcase her talent as one of Germany’s most versatile comedy actresses in more than a hundred different roles and various spoofs. A prolific performer, Mona Sharma can also be seen in various television productions alongside famous colleagues.
As a novelist, Mona Sharma has written four books for publisher Lappan, including the very successful “Best of Schwanger” (best of pregnant). She is also a columnist for “Trend-Guide” as well as writing all of her own segments on “Switch Reloaded”. She was head writer on an adaptation of Tracey Ullman’s Emmy winning SHOWTIME program “State of the Union” for renowned British producer Allan McKeown. For Hurricane TV Production GmbH she worked on a TV-Movie, Cienema-Movie and wrote 6 episodes of
"The Schwackowiaks" for the TV-Show "Granaten wie wir" on channel Pro7, where she played also the charakter "Melanie".
Mona Sharma is now working as a comedy-acting-coach with Comedians, Cabaret Artists, Acters, Hosts, Musicians and everyone who is working on stage and in front of the camera. She does comedy-acting-workshops for business companys as well.
She writes TV broadcasting-analyses for all kinds of comedy-broadcasts and comedy-shows.
